been weird it's more like the mid Atlantic states now than the New England I grew up in.
We need some measurable precipitation, its been over a month since we have had any sort of rain. |

Up to 12" of rain in the 14-day forecast. But if we keep getting these awesome edible mushrooms, I can deal with the soggy weather...

Daily rain -- sometimes heavy -- is not great for our forthcoming move. We still have not had a freeze, though one morning I saw 33F.
On the non-weather front, our Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dog went to a new home on a horse ranch a couple of weeks ago and the last two llamas went to their new home two days ago. In another intriguing non-weather development, the new owners of our rural place own an antique fire engine, which will show up on the 20th to be stored safely in the large shop.

Dropped into the 30's overnight on Saturday, so I changed the filter on the heater and fired it up.

This morning it was raining and 35 degrees when I noticed it had turned to a wintry mix. It looked like mostly snow. It only lasted for ten minutes or so.

We actually have measurable rain in our forecast for Wednesday night into Thursday. Given all of the fires, any rain is welcome at this point. Someone on TV this morning even joked that the governor should make Thursday a state holiday to celebrate the expected rain.....

We have a 97% chance of rain forecast for tomorrow, and the "s" word possible for Friday morning as two cold fronts pass through the northeast.....

Over half an inch of much-needed rain overnight, and will be drizzling for most of the day.
That 4-letter "S" word is still in the forecast for tonight, with anything from flurries to 9+ inches of snow tonight into Friday morning.....

It has been foggy / grey and generally drizzly for the past couple days. We had some ice on the roof of the car this morning after a thunderstorm last night. There were two rolling lightning strikes that sounded unusually loud and long. I was joking in my head that the Russians were coming.
Next weekend and rest of the 14 day forecast is packed with snow symbols and below freezing temps. |

Forecaster last night said something about how low the barometric pressure is, which further dictates how strong the eye becomes. Below 26mm?
It was 39 this morning just before dawn. Out my window it's beautiful sunny skies, but only 61. They say a tiny bit of water is going to just fall out of the sky this weekend. Went up to winterize cabin above Lake Isabella Wednesday. While it was 49, there was snow everywhere, to the depth the stairs looked like they would have been a cool quick toboggan slide.

We're under a winter weather advisory here until tomorrow morning, for a forecast 2-4 inches of the white stuff. I'll believe it when I see it.
Pennsylvania has already announced that they are closing their entire length of I-84 for commercial vehicles starting at 7:00 PM, as the snow forecast in the Pocono Mountains is much higher than ours.....
