That's my donor car as well. Since the OE 330 is close to max potential the diff was by far the biggest "butt dyno" upgrade, if not actual power upgrade. Way more perceived change than headers or exhaust.

That big nut removes the input flange from the diff, you wouldn't be removing that except to service the diff, I'm assuming you're buying one that works and doesn't leak. You'll just unbolt the flange from the driveshaft giubo.

OP didn't say it was an xDrive, but sounds like maybe it is from other comments?
If so then I change my vote to xDelete. Not necessarily to make it RWD, but to set it to a much more rear-biased AWD. Best change I made to mine. |
