How to code a new E90 head unit

Hello all, new to all this but very much interested in getting spun up on all things BMW coding.

So I have a 2006 325xi E90. I had a bad head unit with pixel issues. I know there are videos and kits to repair the display, but I already opted and committed to purchasing a new head unit to replace it. The amp in my care is a PL2 Hifi Amp.

The new head unit is off a 2011 335i E92 and comes with Satellite radio (I don't have a satellite radio module). After the initial install, it had no sound, but after messing with some stuff (disconnecting/reconnecting) I got audio to work. The problem is that the sound is not as loud as I would like it to be. My guess is that the new head unit is not really talking to the amp and is just outputting the standard flat level directly from the head unit. If I'm understanding things correctly, I need to program or code the new head unit to transmit in Hifi b/c it's probably set to Logic 7, this way the head unit can speak to the amp and the sound levels will adjust.

So I have the software and the K&D Can cable, I just need to know how to code this new head unit appropriately to talk to my amp and output loud enough sound. Is there a video or walk through that may be able to help me here?
