Was a little chilly on my drive in this morning, had to turn on seat and steering wheel heater. I shouldn’t complain though, it’s pretty freaking glorious for the next 5-6 months.

The rain/snow line is pretty distinct across the region, and schools on the snow side of the line are closed for the day.....

It rained all week...Heavy wind driven drizzle and now we're in the middle of a monsoon.

Our storm total per my rain gauge for the rain/snow that we've been having the last few days is 2.54 inches, and will probably go up a bit now that the sun is out and melting the last 2" of snow in the rain gauge funnel.
Our meteorological fall rainfall deficit was 9 inches before the storm, so this is welcome precipitation (especially the snow that is slow to run off so it will soak the ground longer).....

On Christmas Day in 2022, the high in Miami was only 47 F when I was there. It was barely above freezing when we stopped for lunch at the beach in Daytona on Christmas Eve. Of course, yours truly stupidly forgot to pack a winter coat and gloves for that frigid arctic cold snap road trip.....

The Iceman Cometh. Steady decline in temps this week from warm today to cold by next weekend. Time to pay the piper for the decent weather we've enjoyed this fall.

Over 6" of measurable rain here at the house last week, probably twice that in the hills, the shore of the muddy Mad River

Frost on Saturday morning, although the temp read 39 when the dog took me out to pee at sunrise.
Then starting around noon and all day/night we had drizzle. Just enough to make everything wet, but not enough for the street gutter to accumulate anything.

We have a quick-hitting warm front forecast to pass here around sunrise, and drop 1/4 inch of rain.
For the USA turkey feast on Thursday into Black Friday, they are forecasting all-day precipitation that starts off as rain but changes over to snow in our area and points north. Me thinks that we need to stockpile on turkey franks for Thanksgiving, because the hosts an hour's drive to the north that invited us will surely cancel with even the hint of a snowflake in the forecast.....
