Anyone know how to remove this spoiler???

Hey All,

I only found one forum post where OP did't report back with pics and process. So I'm asking here. I am not concerned with bolt holes on the trunk as I'm replacing it with a new wing and will plug, vinyl, and live with it.

At the moment I don't know how to separate it. It looks to be a two piece wing. but I don't know how to get the upper part off. I've been very generous with a heat gun in that area and have tried fishing line, but nothing will lift.

Any tips or experience welcome!! (also, if I'm in the wrong forum lmk)

Could it be that it's actually bolted on?? Maybe try removing the trunk liner and see if there are any bolts attaching it from underneath/inside the trunk.

It seems to be hard to find info on this trunk lip. When I try to get underneath it with fishing line and a heat gun it just snaps like actually there aside from glue.

I recently did a new HU and Backup cam. The bolts (if present) aren't accessible from there. Maybe heat gun and try to get that top section off and maybe some bolts or something will be exposed?

I borrowed the "Mafia Stangle Grip" metal line with handles at the end that they use but Im concerned about damaging the spoiler with it and STILL not having it off lol

The cover inside the trunk lid is easy to remove, a few plastic inserts and it comes off. If you don't see any screws, a heat gun will loosen the 3M adhesive then clean the surface. You'll likely need to use a little compound then polish the area for a nice paint finish.

From your handle and the title of the thread I was expecting to read that Darth was Luke's father. (Spoiler Alert)

Love that spoiler! If you do get it removed are you going to keep it?
