3d turbochargers goes on MAAANY Euro spec M57's where US X5d turbochargers is uniqe to only our market..

What would be the behavior of X5 if use 335d turbocharger on it?

Besides the EGR port on the X5? Nothing.

Why do you think there's a difference between the HP turbo on the E90 and the E70? We keep telling you they're the same, but for whatever reason you think they're different? LOL

Beside you, there is nobody telling me that they are the same. And you stating that difference is the port on X5 turbo makes me think that your not very familiar with the subject of discussion...

Why do I think they are different? I do not think, i know as the REALOEM have different part numbers and i post them along with the links and my question in my first post!

To @tryingtobebest as well as @lnxguy
I hate that the small turbo is frequently called the "High pressure" turbo, when it provides boost at the lower pressures. The Large turbo is what really provides the "high" pressure.
Small turbo starts - kicks over to the large in the mid 20 psi range, can be changed via tune, (mine is about 28 psi changeover). In other words - the M57 "large" turbo provides the "high pressure" boost, i.e. 20 to 35-40+ psi.

Small turbos are the same - big turbos are different w/the compressor housing having a inlet for the EGR on the X5d, where the 335D does not.

To answer your question, If you run a E70/X5 Large turbo on a E90/335D - you have to block the EGR inlet on the side. If you run a E90/335D turbo on the E70/X5, you just have to ensure your EGR is deleted or blocked off.
No performance difference/benefit or detriment that anyone has quantified.

For what it is worth, I have the E90/335D turbo on my E70/X5 - granted it is a Tims Stage 3 turbo. I also had him modify a X5D turbo to stage 3 that I sold to someone else - and the only thing he does is remove the ring in the inlet that the EGR "inlet" feeds back into the turbo inlet. He stated to me that he doesn't want to mess w/the EPA implications of changing the EGR/emissions parts of the turbo, and leaves it up to the customer to block the external inlet off. No change in performance.

The only differences between the turbo setups on the X5 and the 335D is the additional EGR port and oil drain on the lower pressure (Big turbo) on the X5.

Dispute that fact until you're blue in the face. I find it wild you think because the part #s are different in Realoem that there are physical differences in the turbos and somehow swapping them would be a 'performance' upgrade. Don't you think we'd already be doing this is there was a benefit?

Newbies, always good for a laugh.

Guys, I have multiple 3s and X5d in the family and friends and I fully aware of the LOWER turbo difference, as i have 3 of them (low turbos) in front of me currently.

I also NEVER asked what is the difference between 3d and X5d whole TURBO setups... But for some reasons im getting answer to this question.

I keep saying that REALOEM TOP/small turbos have different part numbers...\

PLEASE STOP DISCUSSING BOTTOM turbo and how do they differ.

The Euro spec X5d with M57 which uses 335d top turbo part number from the first post) is rated for 382hp and US X5d with identical M57 is declared as 265hp

Please keep your opinion about newbs and laughs to yourself.

You mean 282hp right? So there's a 17hp difference and you think that's because of the turbo? You could easily see a 17HP different with just the better fuel the EU has compared to the stuff we get here lol.
