Newbie 335d, CBU, ABCs, Stage 1, Excessive EGT's

Edit. < Problem solved by resetting adaptations with my Foxwell nt530. Then Driving the 10 cycles of 5 second decel to clear Increment wheel adaptations. >

Questions on excessive EGTs after lots of service and deletes.

First short test drive after 3rd warm up, idled fine, Cruising at 55mph EGT got to 900F fairly fast then hit 1100F. Off throttle drops to 300-500F, parked it rather fast and noticed throttle valve cycling open to close to open about every second. Top turbo was hot as hell.. Been parked since.

2 days of research, I learned excessive fuel and not enough air cause excessive EGT temps. Was not watching my A/F ratio on my bluetooth Android as I freaked over EGT and parked it fairly quick on initial test drive.

So, Greetings. New to BMW, learning diesels, Past Turbo Dodge guy. Here's my details:

2011 335d, Purchased at 118k miles December 2024, new tires, trans serviced, oil changed, then drove it from Florida home to Wisconsin. No problems.

Cold as hell here, week 1 Glow Plug 1 started dropping trouble codes.
Pulled Intake, did CBU cleaning, glow plugs and controller all replaced, Most all ABC removed. (DPF Remains, SCR DEF remain but coded out due to tank leak) Race Pipe installed, EGR and cooler removed, Swirl flaps removed and plugged. All vacuum lines replaced, carefully one at a time. Turbo feed line was weeping lots of oil, removed upper turbo, pulled lower turbo back, replaced all 3 oil feed lines, as well as return hoses, new thermostat and 2 new turbo gaskets. No boost leaks. Flashed Tunezilla Stage 1 for deletes. CCV replaced, I busted the CCV heater and hose between the long tube on valve cover down to the turbo intake tube, so it was replaced, no oil residue inside that heater after I parked it, so blowby or oil there is nill to none. Car made boost and felt good, then noticed temps.

I never reset any adaptations. Hoping this is my problem. Also, ECU must have had the SCR/DEF tuned out when I bought it. When I first flashed my EGR delete, the def tank started pissing out the back end. So I retuned with SCR/Def delete. Not sure if on first attempt Tunezilla assumed a stock tune, and adjusted my existing tables, (adding more fuel to a potential higher stage tune already) or if it flashes their entire code wiping anything I had.

Looking for any advice or direction while I try to figure out how to clear recommended post CBU adaptations.

ordered an INPA cable, Have Foxwell nt530 BMW scanner as well as an OBDLinkCX in the meantime. not sure if I can reset adaptations with those yet.

Thank you.
Dave.

Solved my own problem...

Problem solved by resetting adaptations with my Foxwell nt530. Then Driving the 10 cycles of 5 second deceleration to clear Increment wheel adaptations.

EGT now stays under 800f on a long full boost pull. driving at 65mph, it was between 440 and 580F. At stop signs, dropped to under 400F

Now I just hope I didn't do any damage to the turbo.

Ill run it week before Flashing to stage 2. Need to order a downpipe yet as well. When my larger ASV intercooler and unknown downpipe are both here/Installed, Ill flash to 2.5, which was my final planned/paid for tune level.

Dave.

These things see 1100F during a regen. You don't have much to worry about.
