Stumped - EKPS Issue - Early 07 N51
I picked up a 2007 E90, and I have been working to get it back up and going. I had originally posted this here - https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...6#post31812616
I was able to get it running... I ended up jumping power to the fuel pump from the power on the EKPS module. After unhooking this jumper, the fuel pump has been working, and I can start the car, drive it etc. What has me stumped is that I still am getting a communication error with the EKPS module in ISTA, and when I attempt to update the module in ISTA P, it prompts me to replace, and then of course, I get a failed update, because it can't communicate. Any advice here on what I could try ![]() thanks! RW |

UPDATE - fully charged the battery and hooked up this am, so that I could pull the car out and get ready for some fluid changes. Car won’t start - tried jumping power from the 12+V to the 12+V on the fuel pump connector and it won’t do anything.
Measured voltage with the main larger connector unhooked - I have 12V when checking to ground on the connector and to ground on the car. Checked ground from oth connectors to car ground and also continuity from connector to ground. When I have 12V at the connector and then I plug in the main connector, voltage drops to between 5V and 2.5V. |
