So this may be a dumb/already answered question, but is it enough to simply replace the springs? Seems like a really easy and affordable option over Springs and shocks.

You can, but the consensus is that the ride would be much improved with a new set of struts/shocks too. Really if you're already buying springs, struts/shocks arent that much more.

honestly youre better off getting a spring and shock combo or prefferbly coilovers which will have spring rate and valving matched. if you go with just springs you'll get a worse ride since the shocks valving is completely different you'll bottom out more and have less shock travel, and you'll wear them out faster due to this. if you have a higher mileage car the shocks are on their way out already and you would need to pay for or do the installation twice, once for the springs and once for the shocks when they go out which isnt very long a time difference. My shocks when out around 85k and I just went with coils and havent looked back. if you want a better explanation check out engineering explained on youtube he has some good videos on cars

My E90 330xi on H&R Sports and stock shocks and struts. Looking at coilovers because my shocks and struts are gone and i want the adjustability for the winter months in Indiana.

Nice car! Did you trim the rear bump stops like the instruction says?
Since the eibach pro kit was made for 335i im not sure if the rear struts are exactly the same.

This was back when I was on my style 95s. Rear has some room front has a lot of room to be lowered. can't wait for my new set to be refinished and mounted so I can be low again.

Bumping this old ass thread... what are you guys going with these days to update and/or lower your xDrive cars? I bought an E90 xDrive for my daughter and want to update/replace the suspension, and ideally drop it to where a RWD car would sit.

This thread is full of H&R spring pics, but many of those are a decade old now. And I've never been a fan of their stuff, notorious for riding pretty terribly.

Thinking of one of the Bilstein kits, B12 or B14 - anyone got recent pics of these kits or something else?
