N52 330i jerk/rough running at 2000-2500rpm - i'm going crazy!!!

Hi guys!

My high mileage EU 325i recently blew its engine, which I took as a oppertunity to replace the N52N 2.5L engine with the N52K 3L. (MANUAL GEARBOX!)
Swap went good, but this car is driving me crazy.
From the beginning, it ran very rough. Traced it to be a valvetronic issue since it ran fine with the eccentric shaft sensor unplugged. replaced the sensor since the angle read 0 no matter what, no difference. probably a wiring issue, just running max lift for now. oh well.
now, at max lift, the car runs great cold, but when warm has a massive stutter/jolt at 2000-2500rpm ONLY AT PART THROTTLE! and this jolt, for some reason, only happens in higher gears....
only codes are due to valvetronic and one busted o2 sensor. o2 sensor also definitely should not be causing these issues, already ordered the replacement.
When doing the swap, I replaced;
-PCV System (old style!!! magnesium valve cover carried over from old engine)
-BOTH Vanos Solenoids (OEM PARTS)
-Plugs+Coils (NGK Plugs, Bosch Coils)
-All Gaskets around the engine
-Cleaned Vanos Check Valves
-Replaced VANOS Actuator Bolts (Bolts were not loose or damaged - just a preventative measure)

THE ISSUE IS NOT GOING AWAY!!! It feels like a Vanos issue since a ignition issue would happen especially under full throttle in lower rpm's in my opinion.
It makes the car terribly unpleasant to drive since 2000-2500rpm's is generally the rev range I tend to stay in.
The Plastic Cage in the Oil Filter is also there. New O-Ring, new Oil filter, fresh 10W-40 (rather heavy, I know, but the car gets tracked sometimes and I haven't gotten around to installing a proper oil cooler. will do soon and go back to 5w40)
Guys, I am generally willing to try any tip you might have. i want this thing running how its supposed to!

I would do a new pcv system and just check the crank position sensor, my same engine has a issue related to the pcv but it says maf when its not or honestly vanos
