N54 smoke on acceleration
Hi all, should I worried about this smoke on acceleration? Car is fully Catless, mhd stage 2+ tuned 93oct. Blows grayish smoke on acceleration. New turbos installed in September but potentially there bad? car doesn’t seem to be burning through oil at an alarming rate. Regardless the smoke worry’s me a bit. What do you think? Could this be a byproduct of being fully Catless? Thanks for any advice. video

Your turbo seals may not have been installed correctly. If its happening only since you replaced them, seems like that is the culprit.

Ask the person who installed them. I’m just saying that when turbo seals go bad, a puff of smoke is one of the things that be a tell.

Just realized something. There is snow on the ground in your video. Its possible that what you think is smoke (burning oil) might be condensation from tailpipe. Does the "smoke" happen all the time? Do you smell smoke, or just see it. If its just condensed water in the exhaust system, them forget about it. Its a matter of temperature, humidity and ambient pressure.
If your vehicle is running fine otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it for now. Nice looking car, glad you care enough to take care of it.

sparkyte brand new oem turbos. It happens warm or cold but it’s very humid and cold where I live right now. Has a BMS pcv valve. With the car being fully catless it isn’t gonna hide anything fumes related. Just in a tough spot cause if the smoke is turbo related I want them covered under warranty. Would you be worried if you were me is basically what I’m trying to ask

here are some obvious points: 1. how was it before turbo replacement? 2. yes catless makes it smoke more, guess you see everything. I'm also fully catless. 3. Oil consumption thru combustion is likely. any idea on compression? 4. pcv returning "too much" oil in to intake is also possible...this oil burns during comb ustion. the secondary cats were doing a great job to hide the smoke...

MSgop335 cars health was fine, I’ve babied this car. turbos were replaced in September due the old ones failing. Compression is fine. No oil consumption from what I’ve noticed. Has a catch can, possibly pcv valve that is connected with valve cover? That being said, since your car is fully catless as well, do you notice any smoke on WOT during winter? I wish it was dry and hot where I currrntly live cause if I saw smoke during a hot dry day it would be more damning…..
