Belatedly contributing my old 2010 model E91 that I kept for 12-13yrs before moving to my G60. Such a great car. Not really cleaned/prep’d for posting here but close enough ;-)

I would debadge it though, awkward placement on BMW's part.

What's not to love about a single turbo, BSM E91 with an M Sport Package unless it's an automatic...

Does anyone know in the US how many wagons came RWD vs Xdrive? It seems like the awd is more prevalent.

My old logic as performance RWD is the only way to go but with lack of an optional lsd RWD with an open diff sucks. Days of junkyarding a LSD from an E30 are long done.

Yeah, I would prefer not to have Xdrive. Not needed in AZ and few more things to go wrong. I wouldn't really be pushing a daily to the point of needing an LSD.

3 weeks ago was 10 days below freezing. This week it’s 80-85 degrees and AC is back on. Spring is here!

Got pulled over and given a ticket from a motopig for no front plate, despite having it clearly displayed in the front window with a frame and everything. The ignorant terrorist turdmonkey also wanted to give me a ticket for exhaust… I told him he had no grounds since he had no db meter to show a violation, no quantitative legal standard was broken, and it was DINAN, ergo approved by BMW but feel free to waste his time in court since I’d have it thrown out in seconds… He backed off on that one right quick.

Re front plates, I was trying to be nice because. A: they are ugly and B: I feel no need to help criminals oppress me, track me, or sell my info for profit.

So now I bought a tow hook plate bracket to comply legally for an entire 2 minutes to take a couple pictures for court, then I unscrewed and tossed the entire assembly in the hatch and won’t be showing a front plate at all ever again, instead of it being in the window and visible to LEO.

Figured I'd add my car to the thread. Factory sport pack car, cold weather/premium/xenons, full M Performance aero kit (with a euro spec front bumper!), M performance exhaust, M Sport steering wheel, style 225M wheels. I've had it for just over two years and 25K miles - previous owner is a good friend and flew 2500 miles to buy it back in 2017. Spent the first half of its life in the southern U.S. including a stint with the GM of a dealership, who installed all the M Performance goodies.

6MT swap is in the cards eventually - slowly acquiring the parts needed.

I like meaty tires, I went 265 in the rear, and I think those wheels could have take 275

Damn I hate seeing this picture in a good way. Makes me miss my BSM E91 on saddle!!!

Those are beautiful wheels & I'll have to look into the specs of them now.

I just went through like more than half this thread. Out of the hundreds of different E91s in here, I think I saw 2 different platinum bronze examples.

There are very, very few of these, regardless of location. Is that because it's just a bad color?

I have mixed feeling about it. The color may add to the uniqueness of a car since there are so flippin few of them - at least that is what I'm telling myself.

Can platinum bronze be made to look good? What would you do to make one look good (and don't say wrap or repaint - the one I found has amazingly good paint too).

I have mixed feeling about it, but I have found very much a unicorn of an E91 in platinum bronze. The color may add to the uniqueness of the car since there are so flippin few of them - at least that is what I'm telling myself.

There are no good or bad colors, only colors that you personally do or don't like. I think that color would be one of the very few exceptions to my general hatred of black wheels - I think they would provide some good contrast on it since it's such a "metal" color. Black wheels, black grill surround, even black badges, I think. I certainly would not kick the right car in that color out of my garage - but when it comes to used cars I very much operate under the heading of "beggars don't get to be choosers".

But I ordered my e91 brandy-spanking new in just the colors I wanted. And it's a pretty rare color too, if a bit more unfairly so than Platinum Bronze.

What a beauty, great choice. I tend to agree with you on not getting too picky about color in the used market. TY!

I’m seeing bright gold or polished silver wheels to play off the two tones in the paint. Maybe even some bbs replicas with gold centers and polished lips.
Edit, or matte antique bronze.

Otherwise I’d go with a deep metallic blue wheel. Crazy contrast and attention getting. But it would play contrastingly off the paint color.

Severe lowering.
Roof rail delete.

The fun thing about oddball colors is how little it takes to change them from boring commuter to stand out different eye catchers.
