2008 E91 328xi - oil condition sensor fault

I'm getting 2E9F and 2EA1 codes, oil condition sensor errors. For reference, i started getting temp/coolant alerts yellow/red and limp mode, even though coolant temp was fine, and the car was cold, and plenty of coolant, water pump working. I noticed in Bimmer tools the oil temp was 300+ degrees with a wide range, again with a cold car. My plan is to swap the sensor. Does that sound reasonable?
