High beam not working but everything else does.

Hi there! I need some help, please

E90 2006 325i over here.

I’m having issues with my headlights.

The car has the Xenon Lights (S522) and Adaptative Headlights (S524) package.

Everything works fine but the high beam.

Running day light are working fine.
Turning lights are working fine.
Flashing to pass is working fine.

Yet once I push the stalk to activate the high beam, it does not activate.

Any clues?

Please and thank you!

Cheers

Pretty sure the high beam is some filter flap that moves up and down, not like a brighter light. Probably that mechanism failed.

Thanks a lot. I believe it might be something different because I got new headlights because the original ones had the same issue, yet, I got the same result.

I think you need to check the wiring that operates the high beam flap mechanism to confirm it's getting the required voltage on activation.

Any codes?
If there was a short and FRM tried to activate high beam a certain number of times, it will stop providing power to that circuit until the physical issue is resolved.

may be your car have high beam assistant option, in that case you need to push twice to manually enable high beams

What are you using to check the codes on your car?

Do you get the blue "high beam" icon on your dash when you pull or push the light stalk?

I get the blue light icon when both pushing and pulling the stalk. When pulling, the high beam flashing works. When pulling, the high beam does not activates.

I’m using BimmerLink and OBD (for bmw)
