The remote switches between maps. The procede defaults to map1 "doomsday" when you start the car. To get the full power of map 2 you hit the "on" button on the remote while coasting.

With the beta map, Map 2 is NON-DOOMSDAY...correct?

but isnt that only for people that have the 29.2 update? The doomsday? I have that remot thing, but i didnt install cause i dont get the point of having the doomsday and a high boost?

I just installed my plug and play. I had the upgrade v3 before. These new maps and firmware are SICKKK>> My car has zero lag, has way more grunt sound, more mid range, and pulls get silly with it all the way to redline. I hit 140 a few times yesterday. Very nice shiv !

And never went over 15 ONCE.. I WAS DRIVING EXTRA HARD YESTERDAY day/NIGHT.. 100 miles of driving at least.

Shiv says not to run with the map switcher disconnected. Taken from his forums:

"It is important that you run your car with the mapswitch device connected to your PROcede harness. Leaving it unconnected could potentially cause unwanted map switching between Map 1 and Map 2."

I think that's right, but I really can't tell any difference whether I hit on or off on the remote. My car is just not putting out much power either way compared to some 2007 models I drove.

Wow that is very impressive. I am very new at this so it sounds like dump question but what is doomsday and non-doomsday? ^^;;; Forthermore, i can control maps that to reduce hp and torq by one buttun is that right? I guess V3 has 2 different maps by then. And what does map switcher look like? is that same as two remote control?

So for us non doomsdayers is there any way to default the map so we don't have to remember to switch maps every time?

Does it have to be while idling? Can't the "on" button be pushed at anytime to switch maps (i.e. while driving)?

Yes you can switch maps while driving - I just wouldn't do it while accelerating hard. I always wait until I'm coasting.

Gotcha That's what I thought, but what you said had me confused for a sec. Thanks for clarifying!

Doomsday is for Progman 29.2 (to NOT be detected from this new BMW SW which looks for Tuning indication) and non doomsday all others.
But you can drive it as well prior 29.2.
and in the next V3 SW the maps can be choosen(which is default and which is the on or off button)

Actually if you have a 2007 don't take it to the dealer if you can at all avoid it. They'll most likely flash your ecu to 29.2+

The current maps (not beta) are either doomsday or non-doomsday. My understanding is that the maps in the doomsday file (MAP 1, MAP 2) both limit fuel/boost in the lower RPMS somewhat to avoid triggering the code.

Don't take it to the dealer for ANYTHING unless you have to. People have taken their cars in for something completely unrelated and got the flash just because it's routine to bring the firmware up to date if your vehicle falls into a certain category of hardware. You might take it in for an oil change or a burned out light bulb and get it back with new firmware.

Not without the dealer looking. The only thing you can do yourself is find the ecu code for 80/81

Go under COMMS/firmware info in the PROcede reader software.
