painted reflector repair

I don't like the way my right side reflector fits, so I'm thinking about popping it out and putting on some of the 3m tape and re-doing it. Is there a prob if I'm not using the adhesive tape that came on the reflector? The only issue i see right now is the pain in the arse its gonna be to cut out and the tape to fit on the reflector

I really dont think there is a prob with using 3m tape. That's pretty much what's holding it on right now, but the only issue that may arise is the thickness of the tape ur gonna use vs. the tape on the reflector now. If I recall correctly the original tape was pretty thin. If the new tape is thicker then it won't sit flush. I have the same issue and I've been reluctant to fix mine becaue of fear that I'll make it worse!

what color is your car? if its AW then we can order a new set and split the cost, each of us getting one new reflector.

the reflector is fine...just I messed up the install on one side and it doesn't sit completely flush. I wanna take it out and do it again, but that requires me putting on new 3m adhesive and I believe as previously stated, the new adhesive won't be the same thickness as the tape that comes on the reflector. Kind of a dilemma

Dude I feel your pain man....I've been wanting to do this since april when I screwed up mine just like you did! What to do.......what to do? Any one else use the 3M tape from Home Depot? I bought a roll, but I dont have any residual tape left over on my orange reflectors to compare the thickness. If someone can measure the thickness of the tape on their old reflectors or take a pic n post it that would be awsome.
