I retrofitted a complete dash, cic and combox into my 06 325i. All the parts came from the same 2011 parts car that I purchased. CIC is on C1A and combox has been updated via USB. Combox has been coded and sg_reset

The issue I am having is, I can attempt to pair phones but the pairing says it fails. However the phones can play music and answer calls but they don't show up in the bluetooth device list. All is see is "add new phone"

To troubleshoot I removed my E70 X5 combox and put it in the 325i. It works as expected. I compared the coding and in the attached PDF are the differences. The X5 has a TELEMATICS FO and the 325 TELEMATICS

None of these differences shown in the PDF appear to be related to bluetooth. I won't have access to the car until this weekend so I am trying to do my research beforehand.

Neither of my retrofits have can bus hooked to the combox wiring. Since the X5 works fine I assumed this was not needed for the 325. Thoughts?

The only other issue is I have is more of a challenge. I am trying to get an E90 backup camera working without PDC. I am playing around with an old E70 PDC Camera emulator but no luck so far. I can't get the screen to switch when reverse is selected. People say to check the input and wert options but I am unsure if those affect the actual screen switch upon reverse.

either your combox has firmware much newer than cic or you should try to code your combox same as from e70

I would look into an issue with the VO. If you want I can remote in for free.

Thanks for the offer. Are you saying VO issue for bluetooth or camera? Bluetooth works fine when I swap my E70 combox into the E90.

I think you are missing a VO code for Bluetooth on the 325i.

I just noticed $3AG and $507 has gone missing so that won't help my screen flip to backup mode for the camera.

As of now I have 3 issues. 1. Screen not changing to backup mode when reverse selected. 2. Bluetooth not showing phones in device list even though they work. 3. Car wants me to reset microfilter service but date is blank and reset does not work.

Comboxs and cic are all on the latest firmware. I moved the bad combox from the E90 to my E70, wrote a blank fsw_psw and the issue is still there. Is there a way to reset to erase any phones that have been paired in the past? Perhaps there is something corrupt in that area. thanks

Figured it out. I used ISTA+ to force delete of all phones. ISTA+ continues to impress me with what it can do.

Now that that is done I can focus on getting the backup camera working on a early build E90 without PDC.
