Starting issue

I was driving my 08 328i and it randomly turned off, when I tried to start it back up it attempts to start but after the first crank it then gets a higher pitched starting noise as if it has no gas or spark (im on half a tank). It is not a squealing noise.

It might be helpful if you can upload a video or something of the sound the car makes? It might help us figure out what the noise is.
