Trying something new......
Well, I decided since I have tried all of the aggressive tunes out there that I would continue my quest by trying out all of the intakes out there.
I started with the BMS single cone, then moved to the DIY dual cone intake, and now I will be going over to this: Instead of that tiny filter that it comes with I will be putting on one of the cone filters that I am using for my dual cones right now. I will report back on performance gains, etc.... I doubt this will gain any power on the dyno but I can see it helping out on the road for sure.....

will it fit a dual cone filter? Its kind of tight with the filter that came with it to begin with.

Below is a link to a post about my installation of a bigger filter on the UR CAI. Even going from a 4.5" to 5" diameter filter on a sedan was a tight fit. I think the bases of the filters on the dual come setups are even bigger...

+1
It would be nice to find a filter with more surface area, however I'm not convinced that the filter on the UR CAI is necessarily a significant restriction on that intake that's going to cost a measurable amount of power. I am sure that the guys from UR would have done some flow tests and put the largest filter that would fit without cutting anything or rubbing the LH front tire. |
