Special Thanks to "Shiv" for excellent customer service

Ok, I've had some concern with my V3 (Low trap speeds, erratic data log) I recently posted. Today "Shiv" came to my rescue. Unfortunatly we had an e mail mix up and some communication was missed, however this was all cleared up with a couple personal calls.

First off, Shiv is sick as hell right now, yet he took the time to call me and answer my call after some further V3 testing on my car.

Next, the probelm with my V3. My problems were self induced

It appears I corrupted my V3 when I uploaded a firware update and map with a Visa laptop.

I re-updated my firware/map with the current Beta map using my old XP laptop and just ran some data logs. My PROcede is ALIVE

Shiv informed me that it appears Vista can/will cause an erratic comm connection through the USB port when on battery power. I confirmed this today when I tried to data log with my Vista laptop, my PROcede connection kept dropping off.

Overall, Shiv discussed my previous data logs vs my updated data logs and provided me with some very good information. Bottom line, when working with computers and software, sometimes things just don't go perfectly

Thank You Shiv for the fast response today and answering my call a 6pm at night when you sound like your on your death bed.

Once again Vishnu has provided me with excellent customer service

I would suggest using a power inverter through the cigarette lighter in the future when using Vista and PROcede. I had the same issue.

actually, it does...very annoying.

he firsts posts a thread describing the problem; he then creates a second thread describing it more and then he says it's solved w/out ever describing "how" it was solved. he then creates a 3rd thread finally explaining "how" it was solved (but the TITLE of the thread doesn't say anything about the original problem, except for "customer service" blah blah blah).

a lot of folks were trying to help him troubleshoot his problem, and then he goes off and creates 2 more threads...come on, that's annoying.

Sorry you felt annoyed

My bad for creating a new post, just felt Shiv deserved some direct recognition.

don't mind you giving Shiv props at all... at least, inform the others on the other 2 threads how it was solved. that's all i'm asking. shouldn't have to piece together a bunch of threads together to figure out how you solved your problem.

OP can band-aid this by posting brief notes with links to this (?) final thread.

Please provide some of the facts that posters are requesting.

Strange. Mine works fine when pluged in through the lighter. It looses connection in 3 min. if battery only. It does freeze sometime btw. Gonna install XP soon.

WOW!! this is surprising. It is hard to get Shiv on the phone that soon, typically a team of phone operators or a team of internet operators would contact you and try to "solve" the issue. Since the reputation of the V3 was on the line he promptly answered the phone himself (unheard of).

This is not to critizise either, I went that route as well and did not get that fast of response...I once had some codes on my Procede V2 without even racing the car. Either way, I am glad your situation was resolved and that Vishnu personally called you

LOL that's funny!!!

Those boost curves look perfect for V3. Not having read the other threads, can you advise what version and map you're using and what the ambient temperature was during those pulls? It would be interesting to get the car on a dyno...

I've been fortunate to have never had a problem connecting or losing connection on battery power, even when datalogging 10 passes at the dragstrip over the course of nearly 3 hours - XP laptop of course!

EDIT - Ok I see the temp reference at 98 degrees. This must be non-doomsday, but which stage are you running?

Stage 0, current Beta Map. Map 2 (pre 29.2 version).
