I went WOT too early after turning in to that downhill right-hander, so I pushed out too wide. I didn't correct the understeer and got my left side wheels off track. The next bigger mistake I made was not straightening out the wheel so I would just go off safely. Instead I kept my steering angle, which eventually got my left front back on track and the left rear being off induced snap oversteer, when I went full opposite lock to barely save it.

Skidpad practice helped a lot, since my car goes from understeer to oversteer under heavy throttle.

Actually the car could've easily dug into the ground while going sideways and induced a series of barrel rolls....like I said, shimshimhada's save was a combination of dumb luck and skill and it was nice of him to share all this...

Nice catch, fortunate to have kept the rears on the tarmac long enough to start the momentum swinging back the other way -- the fronts could start sliding forward when they hit the dirt heading toward the armco. That is a nasty place to put the armco.

It looked to me like you caught a bit of dirt/road debris clipping the previous apex [@ 22sec in your video] that initiated the understeer. Downhill turns suck.

All driver's training should include some off-road excursions -- how to exit gracefully. Awful scary hitting the dirt at speed though.
