Idea for dual cone intake

So, I did alot of reading on intakes before I decided to make a custom dual cone K&N intake. I really liked the design of the UR CAI, but $500+ was a little more than I wanted to spend. The biggest concern most people have when debating between a dual cone or a CAI is the heat. I haven’t had an problems with it getting too hot, and I have driving back and forth Houston to Dallas over this summer in 100+ degree weather.

I left the front intake part from the stock intake on, so that cold air blows on the cones, a little. My thoughts were, what if someone made an additional air flow scoop to help bring in more cold air?

Here is my idea. It starts off with something like the pipe of the UR CAI, but rather than a filter on the end, a funnel to increase the air flow. Then, rather than it being attached to the engine, have the other end open as well, blowing on the dual cones. It would keep the air around the engine cooler, and hopefully improving performance and longevity of your car.

I attached on pictures to help try and illustrate my idea. Don't make too much fun of them, I know it looks like a 3rd grader drew it.

That's not true. Third graders can do much better than that.

I think your idea is a good one, you could probably use some kind of hose like the ones used for clothes dryers....flexible with a wire inside...hope that helps!

Why not just leave the stock snorkel in place and use some dryer duct to aim it at the intakes? A big aluminum pipe just pointing in the direction of the filters will probably have about the same level of effectiveness.

I think after all the frustration of finding something and making it work while also making it look asthetically appealing rather than "GHETTO", you would be much happier to save a little more dineros and buy a used UR intake that some OP maybe selling on the for sale threads!!
