tail light on G60 has fine scratches like someone ran over it with sand paper. how do

tail light on G60 has fine scratches like someone ran over it with sand paper. how do I buff it out? tried to take pictures of it, but the scratches are too fine to show up using phone camera. here's a random picture of an identical tail light. the scratch is about the size of a two pennies located at the top edge of the corner(in the circle I marked)

Thanks for your help!

You could try Meguiar's PlastX:

You can polish plastic (just like all other surfaces on your car). Just go super-gentle and super carefully since plastic is soft and will require way less pressure and time-on-target than paint.

Regular paint polish will work.
If you want something fancier, any of the light cluster polishing compounds (sold at AutoZone, Wallmart, etc.) can be used.

I have a bottle of leftover Plastx from Meguiars(for my other car's headlight), so I'll give that a try tomorrow.

somehow it never occurred to me that the headlight and taillight are basically the same clear plastic material.

Update: it worked great! The scratches are gone.(or at least invisible to my eyes)
