What has happened to me? Overly excited about a new car..

I am starting to worry about myself. My E91 is being delivered tomorrow although it will not be road legal until the 1st of September (Monday).

I am somewhat excited about the car, am I this dull? It is not even a 335 but a two litre diesel ESTATE!
I have had new cars before although my Audi A6 is the first car that I have ever kept for three years.

Any tips to stop me licking windows and chasing cars in anticipation in the meantime?

Jonny

Nothing wrong with being excited. Everyone gets like that. You should be VERY excited about the prospect of a new car. Especially a BMW.

Post up pics when she arrives mate!!

Have fun.

Thanks for the reassurance, just what I needed.

This will be my first BMW, although I did have a two month stint with a 318iS when I was 20 which was a spare company car at my father company. It was a good car although I did not really get it, if you know what I mean.

Pics of the 320 will follow tomorrow.....

I'm just finished changing all 4 tyres on my S3 and handwashed it for the first times in years because i'm trading it in tomorrow for a 3 Series Diesel Estate also and i'm excited too! Thing is, i've got to drive all the way from Glasgow to Cornwall first!

First new to me (never bought a new car to date) car in 4 years and the one before that lasted 9 years. So i've been counting the days for a few weeks.

As for tips...i've been reading all the forums and trying to understand as much about the car as possible before i get it.

Yeh its Castle Motors. I wouldn't normally go south of the border to get a car, never mind all the way to Cornwall, but the car was a decent price and the customer service has been great. I'm dealing wit Dale. eg the BMW Garages took at least 5 days to get back to me with a valuation for my car.

As for tank of fuel - I've already asked if they can fill it up for me but not sure if that will happen!

I am super excited too, and I ordered mine over 4 weeks ago and it it is not due for another 3-4 weeks. For me, this is the first time for a long time I'm buying a car with my own money rather than having a company car.

Can't wait!!! I had a 320D and it was a super car - you will enjoy it!

Err Jonny luv, tips yeah. Licking windows and chasing cars 'in anticipation' don't want to think what that 'entails' Doing the above will be enough to get you attention if nothing else.

No need to worry about being excited, perfectly normal imo. Often the longer the wait, the more intense the anticipation eh. We all need something to look forward to in life.

Anyhow, will the car be garaged or parked out of public view when it arrives tomorrow? Just a thought, for your private moments with it.

Completely! My A6 is a fwd bus. Prior to the A6, I had a 2.5tdi Quattro A4 which was okay but I hope not the same as rear wheel drive. The one thing this car had to be was RWD, I was not convinced by the Merc C class.
I also have a Peugeot 205 GTi which I use as a track /weekend toy which is okay as it offers a good helping of lift off over steer.....

Good thinking, thankfully thee car will be off the road and away from prying eyes. My neighbour has an Alpina B5 so he should be discreet of any ‘over enthusiasm’ on my part ....

Have a wank.

I have just finished one, and am now looking out the window at my nearly new car.

I can understand your excitement Atariboy.

Had mine for 3 weeks now (car not a wank!!) and still excited when I drive it. My wife has threatened divorce due to the amount of washing it has had. Soaping it up in public is the next best thing to a wank.
