Question Max Tire Size For OEM 189?

i don't think i can buy rims now. a fair timeline would be after 1 run through of my oem 189 on new tires.

so what is the max tire size i can put on the oem 189 without sacrificing handling? i got my fenders rolled for future potential. i have searched but nobody seems to have oem 189 anymore .

im thinking 245/35/18 and 265/30/18. what do you guys think? i want to tires to look fine not overeating the rim or not enough wraping around the rim. can i even fit 285 rear?

I wouldn't go with anything wider than 235 front and 255 rear. 285 should not even be in the equation as they are way too wide for the wheels.

245 is about max for an 8" rim

255 is about max for an 8.5" rim
since those are stock rim sizes (F/R) i wouldnt go much further. maaaybe 265 for the rear, but the recommended size range for a 265 is 9-10

Can you run 18 x 8.5 wheels at all 4 corners without any issues using OEM size staggered tires? Offset is 30. Gary at Tirerack recommended the Kosei K3 wheels to use as winter setup for my E93. What do you think?

Lightbulb E92 Wheels/Tires

Gary:

What is widest tire size that can go on stock E92 that has 8.5 x 18 wheels at all corners - without spacers or fender rolling? Offsets are 29. I want to stick with a 40 or 35 profile tire. Thanks.

I have 265 on 8.5 wheels and they are just fine. The tires don't go over the wheels very much and look great fromt he back. This is on my E36 M3 ofcourse.

235/40R18 up front is the largest size we've used that never rubs. Some have gotten away with 245/40R18 but we've had some reports of rubbing with that size.
