That might very well happen. From another post, it appears that cars ordered in August (so, the first batch or so) start arriving the first week of October.

The one entry in that thread that gives me hope is ChaneRZ, who went through what we're going through now last year. His sig reads: Ordered:08/25/07 Started: 09/09/07 Finished: 09/14/07 On Ship: 09/15/07 Arrived: 10/08/07 Delivered: 10/10/07

So there's hope that the car will arrive the second week of October. That said, though, my CA has set the expectation that my car could get here as late as the end of October. What can you do but shrug and wait...

You are not going to see those options look different from 2008 - DCT is not available on US models, and the option code and name of the Navigation system did not change (despite the new iDrive).

You should check out this posting. It's from June'08, but it claims that NO deliveries to the dealerships will be made prior to 10/13 due to certification requirements:

Good point, although 10/13 is just a week later than 10/7. I ordered this thing back in July. Another week ain't nothin' to me.
