The old El Toro Marine Base has plenty of open space and lots of abandoned/vacant runways.
They are making it into the "Great Park" but haven't really done anything yet except float this orange balloon a few hundred feet in the air on weekends. Don't know if this is available for renting out but it would be ideal. I went a couple weeks ago to the balloon and from the air I could see that one of the runways was being used to test prototypes of new cars (saw a couple Porsche and Mazda vehicles)...

Actually my post was very useful. It taught you that its not so easy to just rent out a place to "fuck around".
And ill say it again, if you are serious, then go find the private orgs that set up auto x days. They essentially do what you want to do (rent out a huge lot and have cars driving around on it) but legally. If you do that, it can give you an estimate of the actual cost behind this idea.
