Help me with Alignment Specs...
E90
Dinan Springs Koni Sports Stock Sways OE 18" E46 M3 Wheels Fr: 235/40 Rr: 255/35 Sumitomo HTR ZIII (Getting installed Friday) Current tires had severe inner wear on rear, even wear in front prior to installing Konis. Plan to install tires and have car aligned. Mostly street use with a bimonthly SCCA / BMWCCA Autocross events. Feel free to suggest mild negative camber, but don't want to go through tires every 5k miles.

Just got the tires installed and the alignment set.
Feels very good - although the new tires feel greasy compared to the well-worn Continentals. The rear camber was -1.8 L ; -1.79 Rear and the Total toe both Fr and Rr was very high. I think .5 in the front and .7 in the back. I had them set the Rear Camber to -1.5 to reduce tire wear. The rear tires were 5/32 across the tread and cords on the inner edges. If I need more negative, they said to bring it back. I used Bensons in League City, TX. Their tire equipment was just ok, but their Hunter alignment machine and informed tech did exactly as requested while I watched. The only strange thing...On the Front the machine was showing -.4 Camber on the Left and -.8 Camber on the right. Is a variance like this typical from the factory? I know it isn't adjustable, so I asked the tech...he said that is pretty common??

It is a bit on the high side. Although not adjustable, there is some play to allow 0.1 to 0.2 camber adjustment. Harold |

I'm going to go back for a tweak on the steering wheel - its just a touch to the right of center - and try the above if correct. Are adjustable camber plates available and recommended ? The front tires wore evenly.
