The E90 and Alpina

I was looking at the Alpina Website the other day and did not see any prices for anything. Do any of you know how you go about ordering from them? I was also reading in this months CAR, and saw that in England you can buy an Alpina version of the E90. (The D3 I think) Are those parts available to purchase through BMW or Alpina? I really like the wheels and front spoiler, and want to check on the cost. Not cheap I’m sure. Any info on these topics or Alpina in general would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

That car uses Alpina's version of the 320d's engine.
You can check Alpina's site for the specs.
The gasoline powered B3 is what everyone is waiting for.

Yes but can you turn a 330i into a B3? Or do you have to buy it that way? How would you do it. The web site is rather vague. Is there an Alpina dealership or does it all go through BMW?

Alpina is a registered car manufacturer in Europe. They take new BMWs & completely re-do many portions of the drivetrain, chassis & transmission, and then slap their own badge on the car. Since you're in Germany, I would contact an Alpina dealer.

I suppose you could order parts from them, if you knew what you needed. But then you'd have to find someone to install them for you, and you'd probably lose your warranty if its not done by Alpina.

Is it just me, or do the Alpina rims look better on the 5 then on the 3?
The rims on the e90 just look to small... otherwise I like them.

From Alpinas homepage

Quote:
The urge for that which is better and more special has thankfully not slowed in times of mass production, but has become, accompanied by rising standards of living, an eminently fulfillable desire

Exactly this has been the motivation for ALPINA, a small but enterprising automotive manufacturer. To build special automobiles for a small circle of cognoscenti, for people who have a taste for exclusivity and the finer things in life, and who aren’t in need of exhibitionist exterior presentation in their automobile

As we place less emphasis on an ALPINA’s exterior differentiation than we do in its inner values, we choose to draw the basis for our automotive work exclusively from BMW
Alpina has produced cars based on almost every BMW model, and the D3 is their first E90 car. A gas-powered B3 is in the planning, probably based on the 335i.

So you can't make a "true" Alpina out of a standard BMW, but the styling, suspension and wheels are available through BMW-dealers in Germany.

And for your viewing pleasure
