Pulled my knob off. (Including photos)

Finally got round to putting my new short knob on. Thanks to Marlie for sending me the bits!

The shorter knob is much nicer than the original one. Also replaced the handbrake grip to match the high gloss finish. Hope you like.

Has this shorter knob have more girth than your older one? What made you want to change your knob?

Same as stock just shorter, it has less throw so feels like changes are quicker, may be my imagination though.

Ha, that title reminded me of the two times i was shifting into second to hard and pulled the shifter off. It was entertaining for me and the passangers

My my, what a lovely shiny knob lever and grab handle.

Actually the only thing I don't like in my car is the awkward bloody uncomfortable gear knob! If it wasn't leased I'd change it, but can't be bothered to spend the cash. Looks great mate!

Does the short knob come with the aluminum (sic) trim?

Did that one in an old Volvo garage loan car - after the 3rd time it fell off I through it on top of the dash, unfortunately it bounced up and put a MASSIVE crack right across the windscreen Funny as FCUK now but not at the time!

I once launched off the lights at the south mims junction of the M25 in a vauxhall diesel. As i shifted into 2nd it snapped and went all limp. Somehow from 1st to 2nd it got it STUCK in 3rd. Drove home bout 50 miles in 3rd gear.

Topped out in the guvnor approx 75mph. When i got off the motorway and into towns i had to stall it every time i stopped and then slip the clutch monstruously to pull away....

I took the gaiter off when i got home and id changed gear so hard id snapped the linkage. OOOPS

If you stalled it at each stop how did you get it restarted? Sounds like only the gearbox had an issue and the clutch should still have worked. So, at the stops, why not just throw out the clutch?

Also, how do you get to 3rd shifting from 1st to 2nd? Sounds like you deserve an automatic.

Note to self: never, ever, ever buy a Vauxhall, diesel or otherwise.

You gone stumpy then Will? Looks very tactile.

Surely there should be a second knob behind the new stumpy one.
