Alarm
Does anyone here from MN knows how to install OEM alarm system? or know where else i can go to besides the dealership?
I am thinking to get the alarm online and have either the dealership or someone else install it, trying to get the cost as low as possible. I am not sure how much the dealership will charge if I get the part myself. They quoted me $656 for part and labor, it is a rip off compare to what I have seen here in the forum what other members paid for. I dont feel comfortable doing it myself, the most I did to my car is hardwire my V1, that's all. Please advise, Thanks. |

I had the alarm installed at the dealer last year, and that $656 is divided into $311 parts and $345 labor. Bear in mind that even if you do buy the parts and install them yourself, you will still need to bring the car into the dealer to have it reprogrammed. Not sure what their labor rate is, but I'd guess they'd bill you for at least an hour, so you may not save that much doing it this way when you factor in your own time for parts install. Perhaps there are other sources for the parts that could drop the cost more?
