I think the only potential issue is audio quality, which is more a function of the camera than the mount. As others have posted, you definitely want to use a SD card camera (or other 'solid state media' camera) to minimize the potential for damage/data loss due to HDD failure (same reason going jogging with a hard drive based ipod or walking around with your laptop not on standby isn't the greatest idea)

Speaking of.... Do you guys have camera recommendations (and video clips with audio)?

Make sure you use a tape or solid state memory camera, and not harddrive based camera.
I'll be using 2 Sony WDC-7. They are solid state still cameras that do 640x480 video. Sufficient for my needs, sturdy and have good audio quality. The large Cruisecam mount holds 2 cameras and use both head rests so I'm guessing there should be a little less vibration.

I have a Digital Hero 3. It works great and you can even read other people's license plate, however, the battery life sucks in video mode. You can get about 15 mins of video, unless you purchase the expensive Energizer e2 non-rechargeables for $10/pack.

I am using the Flycam one 2.

Its cheap and easy to use, but the sound is not the best. You simply stick it to the car with duct tape or something like that.

This is the first 2 takes I have made. Its from a track day at Sturup Raceway in Sweden

Pulled this off of a local forum...

Finally had a minute to compile my video and data. Video comes from ChaseCam, data comes from G2X, Camera was controlled using the new G2X link cable, so when the Data started the video started. There was no need to start the video. It also made compiling with TrackVision much easier as there were no syncing issues.

They failed to list my class standings in the paper, but I won A Class, then I won the Enduro race about 1 hour later.
