New guy to message boards looking for some advice! Veterans please help!
Ok guys, so I've always been a BMW enthusiast and until I recently graduated college, I haven't been able to afford one. I'm FINALLY at the point in my life where I am looking to purchase a 2009 335xi and I need your help! I'm looking to do ED, but have some questions....
1) I'm located in Louisville, KY. When I build my 335xi on BMW's website, it comes out to a price of ~54,500. How much over ED invoice should I offer on this car? Probably looking to do a March pick up date, any thoughts on this time frame? 2) How do dealers work trade-ins for someone interested in doing ED? And at what point do you actually PAY for the car in this process? 3) Probably a stupid question, but what is with all the abbreviations? CA? E90? Please help a newby out so I don't get screwed over before I head into the dealership! |

![]() 1.) $1,000 over invoice 2.) They inspect your car, and give you a ballpark figure... then you can trade it in before you leave, or when your car finally arrives back in the US. It helps with taxes if you trade in your car, but you'll get more money if you sell privately... which is a hassle that I'm still dealing with. 3.)Abbreviations are the internet's bread and butter... aside from porn. CA = Client Advisor (Sounds better than salesman), E90 = Car's body code (for the Sedan), E91 = Wagon, E92 = coupe, E93 = convertible ED = European Delivery PCD = Performance Center Delivery (Another awesome program offered for free.)

ED Questions
One question that was not answered is when do you pay for the car. The ED program requires payment NLT 2 weeks prior to pick up. Some dealers want this done up to 4 weeks prior to delivery in Munich. This is the tricky part, your bank or credit union may not be cool with paying for the car before you take delivery. But you do have a VIN number they can have, be sure to discuss this with your lender fully. BMW Finance is easy to deal with and will even delay some lease payments until you get the car redelivered.
I have done 5 BMW ED's and the current Welt delivery experience is world class. |

CA is aka as "Comfort/Convenience Access" option.
Unlock/lock/start the car without taking your key fob out of your pocket or purse.

My advice to you is to read through the ED thread...most of your questions will be answered and those that you still have, can be posted there and you'll have all the info you need in short order.
Good luck!
