Any updates with a newer version ipod adapter kit???
I have the BMW ipod adapter installed in my car (not 6Fl). Anyway I found out from Apple that with the "Classic" ipod that displays the "Podcast" feature you can play podcasts in your car while charging your ipod of course. But with the "newer" generation ipods such as a 4th generation Nano you can not charge the Nano nor play podcasts. With that being said is BMW coming out with a newer version or somewhat of a software upgrade so these will be compatible with all newer & older ipods as well???

This is driving me crazy. Ipod sent back my Classic 60 g ipod back to Best Buy. And the ending result was water damage to my USB port. It plays and charges to my computer...but the problem is it wont recognize in my car. And with all the newer ipods that are out they all have the newer software so I will not be able to play podcasts in the car as I am driving, so now I have to finad a slighlt used to new leftover ipod classic (unless Apple or BMW comes out with a newer software).

I put the OEM iPod interface in last month, and was not happy when I connected my iPhone 3G only to see that it doesn't charge! It plays most of what is on there, although I didn't look to see if podcasts were available, but I can confirm that the software on the interface as of Sept 09, does not charge the iPhone 3G. It works fine with my iPhone 1G, Nano 3G and Nano 2G.
If they can fix this with a software update that would be great! |

I dont even bother with messing with the Ipod/Iphone crap...you are better off getting a USB drive and put your music on there. Sure you will have to keep 2 sets of files but you then dont have to take it out of your call all the time when you want to use it. Ive got an 8gig and its fine for me but Im sure they are up to 32-64 gigs now...pretty soon they will have a 1TB thumb drive

But fxcking Apple, bring out the iPhone 3G that solves the headphone adapter problem and now we need adapters to charge!!! WTF! The address sync issue is bigger, as now I can't voice dial (another iphone shortcoming) and have to manually use the phone while I'm driving to dial a number in my address book. |
