If you have idrive I don't think you can officially retrofit the radar screen functionality, but I'm sure there's a way if you're not afraid of hacking up wiring harnesses and hacking with Autologic. |

Someone did this I think a few months back, but now that I think of it I think they essentially put it in the front bumber which we all know if not available for our 3ers

If you grab US 3 series accessory brochure, there is PDC Retrofit kit in it.
It's mounted behind the license plate. It's not going to give you any visual (iDrive) but it'll give you "beeping" warnings. I'm considering that one. It's not the cool iDrive integrated one but for the price (300), I don't think I can go wrong having one.

That way is very easy to do they essentially go right on the top liscense plate screws. But if you are talking about a full retrofit with the holes in the bumper thats something different

I installed front and rear PDCs on my 3series at the BMW service center, they are oem and work perfectly on the i-drive screen; an additional button is added under the cd to enable and disable manually. as they stay active while moving forward for a short while until you reach a speed of 20kmph. This useful when you are parallel parking between 2 cars.

Same curiosity on cost. I have rear PDC with iDrive so I have the 'radar' view when backing up. But, I'd like to add the front sensors but not sure what it takes for iDrive to recognize it, assuming it's possible to add the front. Interestingly enough, I don't have the PDC button on mine. The SA told me it's b/c the on/off is in iDrive but others I've seen have the button. Wondering if the button is present for the full install rather than just the rear like I have.
