Is that why WI drivers drive so slow? I am not kidding--I have yet to ever see a WI plate that isn't driving like a freaking grandma.....and many times thet like to drive in pairs, one in the left lane one in the right....then you can't get around them at all....

Ha! He is so right! I grew up in Wisconsin, and from early on we notice all the crazy Illinois drivers. Since I've moved here, I've deduced it's from the lack of police I see on the highway (It's amazing compared to WI).
Not sure how many Illinoisans know what the term FIB means, lol, but I shall remain quiet since I now live here |

On Chicagoland highways, just pace traffic around you (usually in the 70-85 range) and make sure you signal and don't weave and you are very unlikely to get pulled over.
I dont use a radar detector. I just keep my eyes open and hit the breaks when i see everyone in front of me hit them for no apparent reason (ie no traffic). |

People in Illinois speed like crazy because you can just go to a school and have your points taken care of. You can't do that in WI

Do we have a points system in illinois. Never received a speeding ticket, so never tested it.

Hi from Michigan, just got a ticket for 84 in a 70 zone just a few weeks ago, and I wasn't weaving in and out of traffic or anything, just keeping up with the flow.... unlucky for me to be the last car in the line I guess. I had just come from a bar for after work drinks too, I only had 2 beers in as many hours so I was fine, but the cop had to ask why my eyes were glossy. Luckly for me he didnt press that issue, just gave me my $100 fine and let me go. The worst part is that he got me 200 yards shy of my exit >.<

no they just have 2 tickets in 12 months = suspension. driving school or supervision erases that ticket. In WI you get points associated with the stop. For instance, I got a ticket in Racine for going 18 over, it was a 4 pt ticket. I paid a lawyer to go "fix" it so i didn't have to show up and it was reduced to a 1 pt ticket (faulty speedometer). you only get 12 pts per year up here so depending on the kind of tickets youre getting, you could get your license taken away real quick.

ever since my brother moved out of the house and lives in milwakee for 3 years. he refuses to get a wi drivers licence or change his cars plates to wi. i was with my sister in law we got stopped by the wi state police for no turn signle (can u say bs). she is from florida and she still has her drivers licence from there. so any way cop asks to see lrpi (licence, redgistration, proof of insurence" she hands him a florida licence, il registration and a wi insurence card. let us go cuz he didn't "feel like filling out the ticket" lazy wi pigs in a good way
