Steering wheel leather literally stinks

Hopefully someone can help me out on this one...

I didn't drive my 06 330i for a few months, and I'm driving it again.

However, now something's happened to the leather and my hands stink after I drive the car. I've garaged 2 BMWs over the winter 6 times now and this hasn't happened before.

* Any idea of why this is happening?

* Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks!

After I picked my car up from the factory in Munich, I drove to paris and spent a LOT of time on the Autobahn , but going fast for long periods of time made my hands sweat... and then with the steering wheel, my hands smelled like bacon.

I don't mind bacon. But after a few more long trips, the smell went away, so maybe it was just the leather, or some leather treatment. All I know, is that I really want a Mtech wheel cause it feels 1000% better than the stock wheel.

You thought the leather was made with cows ? In our BMW, it is actually made from pork. That explains the quality.

WTH! The steering wheel smells like bacon? I hope you are kidding.

Where can you buy the m3 or m-tech wheel w/o going bankrupt?

The smell is caused by bacteria and fungus. Use shoe spray (Scholl brand is available in my country). You should use it on the steering wheel, it kills bacteria and fungus that may invade the leather. It will eliminate the odor in no time.
