I drive and Bluetooth issues

I seem to have two things going on. 1 when I first start the car and get the I drive screen I slide the controler to the right for Nav and push down. It should go to the Nav screen but it goes to the vehicles settings screen. I have to push the menu button, go back to the I drive screen choose Nav again and it seems to work fine from then on till the car is turned off. When the car is restarted for a return trip the problem ocures again the first time I select Nav.
The second issue Im haveing is the phone is strating to screw up. Some times the phone will ring and the car won't react. I have the button on the stering wheel programed to bring up the phone book, sometimes it will and some times it won't. My wife told me this morning she had to use the voice command to getthe phone book up. What do ya think

It's the push down (in) thats wrong.

Either give the iDrive controller a quick press to the right - this will enter the Nav menus, or a longer 2-3 second hold right, which will display the last nav screen, be it menu or map. Don't press the controller in. Also, note that immediately after getting in the car and starting it, iDrive can stil be booting (and hence be extra sluggish). I tend to leave it a minute or so before asking it to do anything, unless I'm in a hurry.

As for the phone, search this forum for other compatability reports for your phone model. Also older versions of the firmware on the car itself can have Bluetooth issues, again a good search here will yield a lot of onfo.

Thanks London! I'm going to check that out. I thought you push down on the controler like you click a mouse. I didn't relize a quick push to the right is all that is needed to call up nav.

On the phone thing I will check to make sure tht I didn't turn somthing off while messing with somthing.
It just ocured to me that programing the buttons on the steering wheel may have somthing to do with comfort access remote. I may have done that with my remote in the car so my wife's remote may not be programed. Do you know if the steering wheel buttons are remote spacific?
