drag radial fitment question

can i fit 275/40/17's on the back of my car? I am running 275/30/19's right now and according to the specs they are very similar in size.

I was looking at picking up 2 kosei k1's in 17x8.5 and putting the BFGoodrich DR2 on them.

hmm. The rear offset on the kosei is a bit wierd. (could be spaced out a bit for visual taste) A few here, including me are running 255/40 on the 17x8.5 kosei. What size DRs did/does terry run? He had a pair of kosei wheels if memory serves.

I had exactly that setup before I got tired of drag racing and sold the Kosei's/BFG 275DR tires. It works just fine. Running like 18psi worked the best for grip.

There has to be a point where a car has more tire than necessary. Is there a rule of thumb for how much DR you need for 400ish wheel torques?

+1

if I can get away w/ 205/45/17 (theoretical size) and have enough grip, I'll do that.

the less drag once your under way the better.
