test drove an 09A4 3.2
so i stopped by my local audi dealership since my friend works there and he wanted me to test drive the new A4. First impressions were it looked really nice the interior was very nice looked very stylish, it was the non sport version so the seats weren't agressive but very comfortable. So i took it out on the RT1 an open road thats straight, right when i took the car out i couldn't help but noticed how light the steering was compare to bmw which i kinda liked, the accerlation was great to it had 265hp with a V6 it wasn't as fast the 335 it was quick. the exhaust note wasn't that great it sounded like a 3 series so that didn't really make me say wow. Inside it had enough bottons to keep my busy for 5hours haha.
To make this short since i have class in about 10mins lol i liked the drive a lot but the price was crazyy!!!!!! when i made it all i did was sports and navi it came out to 46,650 on a lease for 36 months 2500 down 12kmiles a year the payments were 628!!!! i could get a 335i with the same options for the same price. And then i realized from that point why you don't see the 3.2 liter on the road a lot because the 2.0 is based at 38ish. |

I'm itchin to drive one myself. I hope it's at least as good as the S5 I drove. I seriously hope the steering is heavier than the S5's though...

The S5 was feather-light at speeds below 45mph, then it sorta just tightened up after that. Not enough, but it got much better.

Why would you even set your set up for disappointment? No way in hell an A4 would have heavier steering than an S5.

S5 are servotronic, though I don't know about the A4. I think if you opt for their Select Drive setup you can adjust the steering resistance amoung other things but if you prefer slightly heavier steering then ask the service department to adjust it, the VW dealership did it on the wife's GTI. I was told the range of adjustment is quite good and she picked a slightly heavier setup than stock but you could have made it even lighter if wanted. Best check if servotronic allows the same. |

True, but I've only heard good news about the A4 (except for the powertrain). I figured they would make the steering heavier after some feedback from the S5. Feather light steering belongs on softies like Lexus.

if it was cheaper i would say its a great car but i mean i didn't even add that many opts and it was close to a well equipped 335i and it doesn't even match up to the 335 performance wise.....

I completely agree. The A4 is a pretty expensive car considering that you can get a 335i for about the same money. Oh and have you priced out an A5? That's pretty pricey too. I was looking to get an A5 but it's a little too expensive...

a5 is around mid 800's its way overprice, their was a guy who came in really excited about getting a A5 but once he heard the price he took his wife and walked out haha (I'm dead serious) its not worth it unless its a S5 because it only has 265hp with a v6 same as the a4 3.2L
