MP3 Problems still
Gave it another go tonight. Tried everything, tried different discs (verbatim, tdk, memorex normal and music), still having problems. Nothing is working. These cd's work on my laptop, girlfriends laptop, samsung home theater system, perfectly, no issues. Have tried using roxio, nero, two different computers. Burned slow, fast, medium. I've pretty much exhausted every idea. Have rebooted idrive (two ejects and power). Nothing is working. Any more ideas? I really don't have time to get it to the dealership, and really don't want them having my car and messing things up, because of this. Knock on wood everything else is perfect. Guess if nothing can fix this without bringing it in, I'll have to wait until I get my first oil change.. What a PITA.. I've searched all the forums and tried all the ideas. Nothing.. I was really excited about this feature and really want this working!!
Any ideas?? Thanks, J49

Considering that you have an XI, I assume your build date is after Sept 2005. All of those cars are supposed to have mp3 capability. My car was built in July 2005 and required a software update. From what I remember, even after the CIP update there was another update required for mp3 capability.
It almost sounds like your car doesn't have the mp3 update installed. I would recommend taking it to the dealer. No need to wait for an oil change.

have you tried checking the file extensions? some of your songs may be in .acc or .wma format thats why the head unit cannot recognize them
it sounds simple but its very easy to overlook. i've done it 2x before hope this helps ![]() |

Sure. Some of the cd's that I burn, maybe the first track or two will play for a bit, but then move to the next one. And then the next one. It's always searching for the next track. Lately all of the cd's I put in will say MP3 001 on the nav screen, and you hear it looking for the next track. Then it says MP3 002, and you hear it searching for that one. It never finds any of the tracks. Every now and then it will find one, but then after playing the song for a few seconds it's always looking for the next track. Like I said all of these cd's work perfect in any computer I put them in, and my home theater system..

"customer states CD player is not reading mp3 discs. CCC not configured for MP3 discs per SIB 653005. it ask for the CCC to have the MP3 feature retrofitted. But this was not an option in the SSS machine. So intstead i performed a CCC reprograming. Customer need to play MP3 disc." i have no idea wat CCC is..i was thinking they would of done a CIP update because that what i have read a lot about here. maybe its the same..can anyone confirm? i have not tried a MP3 cd yet..making one right now. but the CDs i played before i was having problems with play fine now...it doesnt lag or play only track 1 then skip 2 and 3..seems to be fixed for now..oh yea..my car is post sept build. i'll post back once i try a MP3 disc..
