Alcantara wheel in 335
Greetings: Does anyone have any experience in Turner Motorsports Alcantara steering wheel re-covering? It really looks like it increases the diameter a bit. I have a sport wheel in a 335, but alcantara has always interested me. Any thoughts?

The only problem down the road is that the Alcantara peels like crazy. Look at the wheel on that 1000HP E46 M3 and you'll see what I mean.

I had Alcantara steering wheel on my E46M3.
It peels off and looks very bad around after 20-25k miles. And your hand sweat will make it very nasty on the wheels. I kept my stock leather steering wheel and put back on later after I used "enough". Def. I loved the look and feel of Alcantara and I enjoyed it but make sure you keep your stock steering wheel so later you have an option to put it back on.

not the E9x M3 alcantara wheel....the alcantara is only at 11-1 & 5-7 o'clock
smooth leather where your hands should be....and I think this looks alot better than all alcantara

I debated getting this wheel before finally settling on the plain M3 steering wheel. I think the alcantara on this wheel will still get raggedy, but it might take a little longer since those areas aren't where your hands normally are.

FYI,
When E46 M3 competition package owners (came with Alcantara steering wheel) complain about its wear, BMW gave them regular leather one as warranty replacement in 2007.

Get the M3 wheel - the leather is very smooth and soft and so much better than the stock sport package wheel!

+1000 This is what I have and I absolutely love it. If you are concerned primarily about feel, I would go straight leather...The alcantara throws off your wheel slide through your hands when turning. But it definently looks sick!!!

didn't know that wheel was available. I have the ///M wheel and I really like it.

The wheel feels very comfy when I had it on my E90. I had the full perf leather version though.

M3 wheel vs Alcantara
Thanks everybody. I guess, if I decide to spend $$ on a wheel, it'll be an non-alcantara M wheel. One thing I forgot to mention, the S2 335 I'm buying has auto/step with paddles. Would the SMG paddles on an M wheel actuate the steptronic shifts as on the OEM sport wheel? Sorry everybody, all this is new to me. This is my first slushbox, but the '08 335i I'm buying is so fine, it has made me forget about waiting on a DCT 335i, if and when it ever shows up.
