what's wrong with Houston stealerships?!
So my 2007 328i was in the dealership for minor repairs caused by a faulty steering wheel sensor. My service advisor calls me and tells me the car is ready to be picked up.
As I'm pulling in I see 8 135i sitting there collecting dust. 7 of them were convertables. So I decided to talk to a CA to run the numbers. Mind you I am halfway through my 3 year lease and I know I'll be taking a hit trading out this early. He shows me the only coupe on the lot. An AW with premium sports and cold weather stickered at 42k. He takes my 328i and has it appraised to an unknown number. He comes back with a sheet of paper stating some numbers. Finance for 60m 870 per month at 0.9 with 2500 down. Lease for 36m 855 per month with 12k miles and 2500 down. I tell him I'm looking for a monthly parment of no more than 750 a month. Then he tells me this is worst case senario as if he wants to sit there and haggle all afternoon long. So I ask if he would sell me the car at close to invoice and he tells me NO. 42k was the asking price and he wouldn't budge. I looked at him funny and simply thanked him for his time. I guess the economy isn't bad here in Houston or his guy doesn't want to sell calls. |
