make fog lights into turn signal
hey guys i have an idea. i'm trying to redesign the corner delete mod so when all the head lights are on, the amber is not. i have that part fingered out. but i was looking to relocate the turn signal into the fog light housing. but still want my fog lights to be full functional. my basic question is do you think there is enough room in the fog light housings?

A few reasons why, first the front blinker is opened up so cars not only coming at you but next to you can see it, the reflector is set up to through the blinker light in a fairly wide direction. The reflector in the foglight housing is set up for a completely different beam pattern. Even if you could fit two bulbs in there (which it would be a very tight fit) you would completely screw up the reflector for the fog lights making them basically useless as well. Last but not least I am still trying to figure out why in the world you would want to relocate your turn signals into the fog lights?

first off i should say i'm not doing it to my car but my friends, he's to dumb to do anything
he wants to put led strobes in the head lights but does not want to drill a hole beacuse to expensive to replace. in order to do that we would have to relocate the turn single. believe me we are looking at other options |

how long will the fog bulb last if it keeps flashing like turn signal?
and you may not want to use turn signal in case you are facing the real fog weather. |

therefore not illegal. A lot of cars use fogs as a turn signals (Like the way your signaling the bulb on that side of the car goes on)...but i think YOU MUST have a amber bulb (white allowed in some places) signaling to...
atleast in Canada you do. |

Don't go through all the trouble of installing another signal light. Just tell your friend to just roll down his window and use hand signals. That would be gangsta!

the 2008 c-class doesn't do that exactly. the c-class has corner lighting and e.g. turns on the right fog light, which then permanently stays on whilst approaching and going through a right turn, illuminating the area to the right which is not covered by the headlights. the c-class also has a special fog light housing with a wide beam pattern to allow for illumination next to the car, unlike the 3 series which, as already mentioned in a previous post, has a normal housing with a straight-forward beam pattern. |
