So how do you change maps of the fly when you wanna race a V3 and you started in grandma mode?

Nice idea but removes a lot of flexibility IMHO of being able to switch to high boost as required.

If you buy Rixeffect guage pod, you don't need the wireless remote switcher for its integrated into the guage...you can switch on the fly while driving...

So you have two choices of what to do for map switching...1..BMS remotes or 2. buy the Rixeffect vent guage and you can change it that way also...

Someone asked earlier in this thread and I really didn't see an answer. Having the ability to switch out maps, especially "on the fly" doesn't really seem THAT great. I mean, dropping to valet mode will work fine, but then trying to go back to high boost mode and now you gotta re-adapt right? It would be SOO much better to change the actual ECU (DME) map and not the piggy-back map. I know, that is a "whole-nother" issue.

I think changing maps on the fly is great and all, but most people here probably won't even really go from Valet to high boost...I would imagine all the speed junkies already have it set to high boost map and changing the maps is almost non-existent....I have that option and don't even drive the car hard at all, and i find myself always (99%) in high boost map! I think its we as mod junkies just like the fact of functions and features, at the same token never even use them!!

I hear ya. I am glad it is sold separately! I personally do without the gadgets, if I doesn't make my car faster then it isn't much of a concern to me. I like to have a nice car, don't get me wrong, but like I ordered mine 6mt, e92, sports package... I did splurge a bit and get the CR interior but other that that I have no options really. I am glad Shiv is doing a cheaper version of his tune as well, without all of the "features" to compete with JB3 for simple/efficient/high power. Competition is great!

it'd be soo cool if they could hook up the jb3 with the voice command from the idrive...like press the button and say whatever map # and there u got it..but it probbly would get too technical

I was not referring to Rix's gauge switcher, I was referring to Terry's throttle input idea.

While I think his solution is great I'd like to understand how you can map switch while driving?

This is something that V3 offers, Rix's gauge offers and Terry's remote offers. But I cannot see it offered with this throttle method and so I'd like to understand how you would map switch if you are using the throttle option and don't have Rix's gauge or a remote.

Correct, the throttle method is only possible with the engine off. Its not meant to re-place on the fly switchers, like my vent gauge, but rather allow people that want to just switch before driving the car.
