Need Tire Recommendation from GURU's
I wasn't planning on changing my wheels so soon after getting this car which I've had for less than two months, but I bumped into an extraordinary deal on BMW Performance 19" rims (style 269) that I just couldn't pass up. I'll be removing and selling the stock wheels 18" style 189's
I looked at the Bridgestone Potenza S-03/RE-01R's, and Goodyear Eagle F1's. There is a shop in town that I'm working with that's trying to sell me Toyo Proxes TR1's. I need some good advice (from someone that doesn't sell tires) on the best option considering I live in the desert and may benefit from a dry performance based asymmetrical tire. I've decided against run flats Front 225/35R19 Rear 255/30R19 |

Depends on how much you want to spend.. I recommend Dunlop Direzza Star Sports if you're looking for a reasonably priced summer tire with great performance (it'll handle well on the rare occasions when it rains, too).
Living in Henderson, you probably don't want or need all seasons. |

My top two picks in those sizes would be the Michelin PS2 and Goodyear F1 Asymmetric.

I have had Toyo Proxes TR1's on mine for the past six months and am quite happy with it. It really started to feel right after the first 500 miles break in.

After a considerable amount of research I decided to go with Good Year Eagle F1 Asymetrics. 235x35x19 and 265x30x19.
A guy at Discount Tire really worked his ass off to get my business. I had to get the tires quickly as I needed to have them mounted on the eve of a 1600 mile road trip which I just returned from. Because these tires are somewhat rare he ended up having to order two of them from Tire Rack. They performed flawlessly on the road trip and exceeded my expectations. Thanks to every one that offered helpful information. I'll try to return the favor. |

The T1R has decent grip because of its rubber, but the sidewalls are too soft, especially for a 3500 lb + car. There have been many instances where I got the sidewalls of the T1R's to almost fold over in a much better tuned 3100 lb car. But for a high performance summer tire, they are good tires, decently quiet and the tread wear isn't too bad either. Btw, I like your screen name, hah.
