Dilemma: 08 or 09?

Thinking of buying a 335i coupe but I've got some decisions to make...

Choice #1 -

I can take advantage of the 0.9% financing now for this particular 2008 335i coupe:

TiAg / Black
Steptronic
ZPP
ZSP
Heated front seats
Ipod adapter

*Can be had for invoice ($43,500)

Choice #2 -

Order a 2009 335i coupe to my specs which are:

Montego Blue/ Saddle Brown
6MT
ZSP
iDrive

*MSRP will be around $47,500 before any 09 price increase and APR rates should be at 3.9% or higher.

I want the 0.9% rate (who doesn't?) and the savings between the 08 and 09 with interest included comes out to be around $4k to $6k depending on the discount available on the 2009, if any. The trade-off is that I cannot get the exact car I want but I do save around 5 grand between 2 similar cars.

Obviously, I have to make my decision by Sept. 2nd when the 0.9% offer ends and at that point - it'll make more sense to order a new 2009 model.

Any inputs? (Tough choice huh? A BMW twin turbo coupe or a BMW coupe with 2 turbos )

It really depends on what you want... those two cars are very different. How bad do you want 6MT. Will you be mad at yourself everytime you see a montego blue one on the road? FWIW, I just negotiated $900 over invoice for an '09 sedan in SoCal. Since the '09 E92's are mostly the same as an '08, I think you can do even better, maybe $500 over invoice. So, depending on how much they increase prices, your '09 should only cost a little more if any. Good luck!

At this point in time I would get the 09 w/ the exact specs that I want.

+1

If the savings is more important to you than get the 08...but don't regret any of your choices.

I went with the ladder, I am in the process of ordering my '09 Montego Sedan. Get what you want, don't just get one to get one, because you will kick yourself everytime you see what you want.

I would get 08 with 0.9% financing.
Just because its a great value and you can get huge discount off sticker price.
Probably around invoice.

But. . . If you have money to spend and aren't going to Finance then i would go for the 09 for the new iDrive and headlights

I would highly advise going with the 08 only if you get a stellar deal on it, as the 08 will be a yr behind in terms of depreciation when you go to sell it in the long run. Good luck finding an 08 with the configuration you can live with, since it is pretty late in the year and production of the 09's started a month or two ago.

Thanks all the responses but I started the thread 3 months ago and I've decided to hold off the purchase as the economy has gotten worse.

09's are looking good, especially with the 1.9% APR for E92s and I want to do ED delivery as well.
