Long crank not related to Fuel Pump?

A couple of months ago I was getting really long cranks and told my service advisor, but he didn't do anything, a week later my HPFP went out. The long cranks were gone but they are starting to come back. Once in a while the car will take unusually long to start. Is it my fuel pump again or is it may be the colder weather? (Usually happens in the morning when its like 50 - 60 degrees.) I just ordered a JB2 and i don't wanna risk putting it in and having to take it out in order to take it back to the dealer. Any of you guys have the HPFP go out on you more than once?

They can fail multiple times. You might be one of the "lucky" ones to experience HPFP failure more than once.

What gas do you fill up with? It is possible bad quality gas is causing the issue. However, many people have had multiple HPFP's go out, especially with the remanufactured pumps... Word is the pump ending with 881 (part number) is the third generation pump (I received one of those two months ago when my original HPFP went out).

Dont know what parts bin they are getting stuff from...but in my humble opinion...all long crank issues have to do with the fuel pump...and yes, you may have issues with your 09 in regard to HPFPs.

lol everyone is so quick to assume...

the car WILL occasionally crank long in cooler temps... do it this way:

get in your car, turn the car on without starting it first, and then start the car a few seconds after

if it still cranks long, its probably the HPFP

i have the newest part number fuel pump and still get a 5-6 second crank every 4-5 weeks... its normal...
