If you take your time you should be able to do it in half a day however I would strongly recommend having a shop do it. Also making sure that coilovers are set up properly after the installation is important. You need to set up the ride height, load etc... and you would really benefit from getting it corner balanced (especially if you decide to do the install yourself). Remember you are dealing with a BMW not to mention a very nice set of coil overs. Do it once, but do it right

My shop guy did it in a couple of hours, would have taken me a few days

Make sure EVERYTHING is TIGHT. I had some creaking after the install, even though the shop torqued everything right. Got back in there and did it by hand, and the sounds went away.

I installed mine myself with a couple buddies... but only one of my buddies had ever done the install before, and never on a 335i. It was a disaster, as we did not have the optimal tools for the job...

If you and your buddies have minimal experience, I would STRONGLY recommend you let a shop do it. I paid $300 for a complete coilover swap, and it's more than worth it to avoid the stress/trouble of doing it yourself.

I did it myself in my garage, with no power tools. I did borrow an electric impact for the top nut on the front struts but it was basically all hand tools. Took me all day but I was alone and was my first time doing it on this car. If you've done some shocks/springs in the past and have the proper tools then it should be fine. I would suggest having another person to help as it would make things easier.

I have done lots of installs on other cars...and what I saw of this install...I didnt want to do it. The installer yelled at me cause it was so difficult. I would not do it myself if I were you.

Well there was a considerable amount of swearing and I took my time. Wasn't the most fun to install but it was good that I did it myself IMO. Got to know how to get everything apart etc.

It's not so bad Steve. Hey, at least you only have to compress 2 sets of struts and springs on these cars vs. 4 on the Audis.

Shops will probably range from $250 (without alignment) to as much as maybe $650 with alignment. I use to do suspension install jobs on the side..and we charged $325 for H&R coilovers on Audis. Me and a friend did the installs. Chowbow probably knows several of the installees since he also came from the Audi camp locally.
