I don't know a lot about the Procede , I've wanted one but never wanted to div einto the ECU box. From the picture it looks like I only have to unplug one wire, and plug it in, or is there more than just that little box?

It's actually 5 connectors if you consider the PROcede connection. 4 connectors to the car and one to the procede.

The first time looking at any ECU can be scary, the BMW ECU is spider nest as it is. Just take your time and double check your work. You'll be ok.

Once procede rev.II goes on sale, will rev.I still be available for sale? Until it runs out?

Will newer maps for the rev.II procede work on rev.I?

Actually, Rev.I is no longer for sale. We've been downselling (?) all recent orders to Rev.IIs. However, we will always keep a few rev.I units in stock to replace damaged units. And they can still be manufactured as needed though.

And as of now, rev.I and rev.II both run the same firmware and maps which makes things simple enough

are we to assume the firmware v3.2 will be available in Dec when RevII starts shipping?

Shiv, thanks again for giving all of the 335i owners a solid product. There is a lot of bashing, but the bottom line is you have made our cars perform at a higher level. PS...people that bitch when they buy a 45-50K car that out performs many others are delerious!!

Shiv-

If I were to get catless DP's, knowing that the V3 has a software o2 sim, if I go into the dealer I would obviously remove the v3...is it possible to have a physical o2 sim and the v3 software o2 sim @ the same time?? Just worried that when I took the procede off, I would get a CEL, if I had DP's, and no hardware form of o2 sim. Do they interfere with each other?

Thanks!

I would think with Rev II you would pop a cell since it is now on the board itself. Where if you had Rev I and you did the O2 sim DIY that shiv created you could just plug in the bypass plugs and you would still have no cell. I could be wrong on this though.

The software sim with the PROcede rev.II is fully adjustable in terms of "strength" which means that you can adjust it downwards so that it is essentially disabled. So there would be no issue with running a hardware o2 sim with this being the case.
Cheers,

So if he took the procede out he would have to run a hardware O2 sim to not pop a cel for service?

Does this apply to Rev I also? or does the DIY O2 sim cover that if the procede is removed?

Not really... it takes a good bit of driving to pop a cell once you remove the o2 sim (either hardware or software based). In my car, I have to be cruising for about 15-20min before a cat inefficiency code is thrown. Something you're dealership wont be done with your car.

In other words, take back roads to the dealer and not the interstate if it is more than about 15 - 20 miles away.

By all intents and purposes, Rev. II installation will be no different to the original Rev. I installation. The only thing different will be that no external earth connection is required.
Quite simple really.

Hallelujah! At least one other e90post denizen who knows it's not "intensive purposes."

Shiv is absolutely right, I have catless downpipes and never installed O2 sims: the only way to get the two bloody codes thrown is to cruise easy but steadily on the throttle for more than a quarter hour.
Moreover: if you cruise at a sufficient speed, let's say at least 80mph, the codes are not even thrown
